Hi everyone!
First post here. I am desperate to find a program for inventory that works between a retail POS system and our website (presently with 3dcart)

And like most small businesses we can't afford a LOT but hope to find something that will allow us to download our inventory sold from our store and send it up to our 3dcart website. Or a program that may allow us to sync them both. Now we are pretty much stuck with 3dcart for now as moving our website would be a huge undertaking, but we have not purchased a POS system (we have been using a cash register). All the inventory sold in the store has to be updated on the website.

We are in Canada so the POS system has to:
Customer records
Be able to handle multiple taxes - We have status cards here which means we have to remove ONE tax prior to finalizing the sale.
Needs a flexible loyalty program -- Buy 9 of these get the 10th for free type of deal.
Needs to round to the nearest ".05" - Canada - no pennies
Would like to to have a "paid out feature". Take money from till drawer to pay for office supplies down the street or a supplier that comes through the door.

We can move from 3dcart to another cart system if there is something that will help us make the switch. We are flexible, but time is a constraint, as it is with most business owners.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advnace!

You are trying to combine too many accounting functions that don't have anything to do with each other.

You want something that brings your inventory together both on and off line? You can probably get that, but first you need to choose a POS system.

You want the same thing to run your loyalty program and pay an office supply vendor down the street? Not likely you'll find all of that in one software. Paying vendors is usually handled in your accounting software or by your bookkeeper. Ordering office supplies has nothing to do with your POS System, website or inventory.

You could try this company: Ecommerce Integration | AmberPOS (http://www.amberpos.com/point-of-sale/ecommerce-integration/) , and they are Canadian so they know your tax set up.

While on my search I did come across Microsoft Dynamics with POSSync.

I might have everything I want. POSSync does work between a few carts, 3dcart being one of them, and Dynamics POS system. Seems to work with a few other carts and other POS systems too. So for those looking for something similar, you may want to take a peek at it. Playing with it now and will let you know how that all goes.

Harold many small businesses don't have a bookkeeper. Having a "PAID OUT" function on a POS system is vital for many retailers. I have these functions on my present cash register, so why would I not find them in a POS system? Example a shipment comes into the store -- International duty required to be paid. Staff is there, I am not, so therefor my cheque book is NOT around for my staff. A simple paid out function works wonderfully. It also accounts for the CID (Cash in drawer total). The staff simply pays it out, then puts the receipt from the supplier in the drawer. The Z1 report or End of Day Report will then balance perfectly as it accounts for that cash being taken out of your cash drawer.

Will post more as I know more. Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, I'm sure a simple "pay out button" would be pretty standard. Every register system I've ever worked with had one. I though he was looking for more detailed accounting features.
