From a blog by Guy Kawasaki – a prominent VC and entrepreneur:
“There are lots of beauty pageants out there for companies looking to raise money, but in my experience, if you want to raise money, it’s probably best not to ask for it in public. Better, tell the world what you have accomplished, not what you need. That’s the idea behind “Launch: Silicon Valley,” which Garage developed in conjunction with our friends at SVASE several years ago.
This year, “Launch: Silicon Valley” will be held June 9th at the Microsoft conference center in Mountain View. If you are interested in telling the world what you have accomplished, make sure you apply to present. The submission deadline is May 8th.
If you have a cool new product or service ready for launch by the end of May, you can apply for one of the thirty presentation slots at this year’s event. You will have the opportunity to tell your story to an audience of bloggers, press, investors, corporate execs, and trend watchers. Prizes are awarded for the best presentations, and there is lots of opportunity for schmoozing.”

If you are in the area and have a great idea to present – this is a great opportunity. Even if you are not ready to pitch your idea or do not meet their guidelines – still attend and learn how others pitch and the questions they get asked.
We have no affiliation with this event or any of the sponsors – just wanted to pass on this information.
