Hey everyone, I'm Varine. I live in Portland, OR, and I'm 19. I'm a student majoring in math, computer science, and Russian language. That's really all there is to know about me I guess... kind of disappointing, two lines sums up my life, don't you think?

I primarily came here because it was the second link on Google, and the first one I had to wait for an administrator to authorize me and I don't want to wait right now really as I'm really bored. This one has a better skin I think... sleeker, nice blend between modern and vintage....

Anyway, I and a couple of other people are starting an independent game design corporation (or partnership, I don't really know what I'm doing as my economics teacher in high school was supposed to be an English teacher, and therefore didn't know much about econ so we didn't do much... I usually just argued with someone most of class and then we explained what the chapter we read as homework meant to him). Which I don't think is that hard in itself but there are a lot of other complications that one probably does not normally see in something like this, and there are a lot of them so likely there will be a lot of posts asking question in the near future, and any answers will likely need to be heavily annotated before I understand it. We've got a while until we have to have it totally figured out, but I can see this as something that if I don't do right now I'll forget about it so it's taking up a lot of my attention for a while.

So hopefully, someone can provide me with this otherwise esoteric knowledge that would require countless hours at the library not understanding what book I should get.

Welcome to our community. Portland is one of those places on my "must visit" list. My brother and his family live there (well, really in Vancouver, WA) so I figure someday I'll get there for a wedding or other family celebration.

Welcome! You will find all sorts of people around this forum - we should be able to help you out with figuring out which book at the Library would be useful to peruse and then in helping you to understand what the important part in all those pages is.

Oregon is one of the few states I haven't been to - but my baby sister is getting married next year, and she's doing it at Mt. Hood Oregon, so... my next vacation destination has been decided for me.

Welcome to the forum, Varine. Sounds like you have an interesting situation going (I read your other thread first). It will be fun to follow the progress of this company.

I don't think of myself as a dawg, especially since I'd have to say old dawg, and I'm still willing to learn new tricks, but welcome aboard. You did find a great place to learn from experienced business people.

Hi Varine, welcome. I read your other thread first and unfortunately I cannot offer any advise except that maybe you need a lawyer. Maybe some of the lawyers or business specialists will see the thread and offer advise. It's nice to see someone as young as you so ambitious and I wish you a lot of success. If I can help you with the bookkeeping end of the business, let me know.
