If anyone had asked me, I would have guessed that America was the originator of the Beauty Contest. Certainly, beauty contests seem to be quintessentially American.

Going on, right now, is a camel beauty contest in Abu Dhabi. 20,000 camels from all over the Gulf region have converged on this small country for the $9.5 million dollar prize.

$9.5 million dollar camel beauty contest!

Miss America won a $50,000 scholarship for her win!

Yes, America has certainly fallen upon hard times!!!!

I actually think The Westminster Dog Show gets more viewers than the Miss America Pageant. And I think a Best In Show winner makes more in stud fees than a Miss America winner makes in endorsements.
Same as a Horse that wins a major event. A Kentucky Derby Winner can get $3million a pop!

So I think we have them beat on that one. We just don't have camels.

So are we saying that the American public places more value in pets than beauty?

I think it says that we like animals better than people.

i like how they changed the swimsuit when ratings started dropping....now we watch to see boobs

its not about beauty...its about boobs and beauty...why did they ever even have a talent part?...im sure that inner beauty we discovered about them from the talent part really was very important.

can any one win with an A-cup?

can any one win with an A-cup?
Yeah, back in the 1920's when it first started and people's bodies were mostly Gin and Bacon fat. Probably up until the early 90's.
