How often/thoroughly do you check landing pages, links, search results, etc...?
- I do as often as I can (read: at least once a day.)
Last weekend I noticed that when I clicked on my search result link, my page 'could not be displayed.'
- called tech support, with my domain name
- they entered it into the address bar, and it popped up no problem
- we than start to focus on my computer
** lightbulb **
I ask the tech to do a search, and go through from there... nothing.
Turns out, I had let my SSL expire, and my pages went from "httpS" to "http."
- this meant that search engines would direct people to inactive landing pages... slowly killing my credibility with each click.
It was a quick fix, I simply re-secured the site.
But if I hadn't checked, and been thorough with the tech guy... I may have never noticed that my SEO was completely useless!!
