Federal EIN number

We are starting a second business (Gourmet Flavored Pretzels) that will not have anything to do with our current business (Yard Cards), do we need to get a second EIN number from the federal government? I have a feeling that we do but just want to verify this.

If it's a separate LLC or S Corp - yes, you do.

But if it just a separate line of business within the same LLC or corporation, then you should NOT get a new FEIN. Every entity should have one and only one FEIN.

We are planning on having them as separate LLC's.

Then you need a separate FEIN for each LLC.
