I've been following a lot of so-called marketing gurus (various industries) online and one of the themes commonly preached is joint-ventures.

Do you use them?
Any success?
Limitations?

I'm new to the forum but would love your thoughts and opinions.

Jcarruthers,
I hope so. Our entire business is built around marketers working together to leverage relationships, create deeper relationships, and share best practices. We are looking to build strong relationships with good marketers.

I have multiple product line that don't seem as if the go together, so I made a one sheet flyer that looked like a newspaper classified ad sheet. Even with all of my products I didn't have enough to fill both sides of the page, so I asked others to join for just a share of the printing cost. They also helped with distribution into circles and networks that I was not a part of. Not only did we each past these out to our own customer base, but also as mailer to geographical areas. For the little money that it cost we each got a lot of exposure from it and we plan to do it again.
