Michigan is cold now too but I'm enjoying a great winter the way it's supposed to be for a change. When spring arrives, I'll enjoy that too, but winter without cold and snow is pointless. There's always other climates for those who don't like winter and if they would move maybe traffic here would be much better. Note to snow haters: feel free to move...please. Less traffic, especially with slippery roads is fine with me.

Welcome from cold and snowy Michigan.

I just heard today we won the award for most snow per square mile in the US. On a funny and related note, I broke the handle on a snow shovel 2-3 days ago, grabbed another shovel from my shed and the handle on that one broke today. After years without incident or needing to buy a new snow shovel I went to the hardware store today to get one. I don't claim to enjoy shoveling but it's good exercise and part of the package with snow. I'm sure the unusual cold had a lot to do with the handles breaking by making them more susceptible. I couldn't help but laugh after it happened twice in just a couple of days (although I wasn't so amused the first time even though I had other shovels).
