Thread: Is another LLC necessary?

    Default Is another LLC necessary?

    Experts,

I own a small s-corp. My core business is service delivery. I have a product being developed that I'd like to have as a part of my business (think of it as just a separate project). My accountant told me I will need to file for a new LLC for this project. I have already funded a large part of the project via my s-corp. I really don't want the headache of having to manage this as it's own entity...

    I hope this makes sense.

You may have misunderstood your accountant. You do not NEED to create a new LLC for this product, but you might WANT to do it to separate the liability away from your core business.
