    Default Liquor.....new participant

    1st time to this site. Yowzer.....took awhile just to get this far.. Looking to open a liquor store and seeking advice.

    I don't know anything about the business, but I mention one thing. There is a family run liquor store not to far from me, 10 or 15 minutes. They deliver which I think is really smart. Being a small operation their margins are low and they have trouble competing on price with the big chains. We have a lot of elderly people who don't want to drive in this area. Also, if you are having a party or it's the holidays, you shouldn't be driving to get some extra booze. The owner tells me they do a good amount of business with delivery.

    Just a thought.

    There are a LOT of regulations in that industry, and they very significantly from state to state and sometimes even by local jurisdiction.

    At least you guys can sell real beer cold in Texas. (I'm in Oklahoma, the land of beer-flavored water and Texas bootlegging runs.)
