I have an older ecommerce website that uses a now unsupported plugin called Shopp. The site has about 6k products. I suspect I need to change ecommerce programs and am thinking about Woo Commerce only because it seems to be heavily supported.

If I convert over, is there any reason not to just install Woo Commerce in a different directory and over time move products over. I could wait until the Woo solution is completely set up to take that directory live.

I am assuming this will have an impact on SERPS which are currently quite good.

Any input on how to best do this is appreciated. I don't even know if Woo Commerce is the best choice. I am just starting to think about this.
