FOR OUR NEXT MINI EVENT WE ARE PLANNING A BUY 2 GET ONE FREE....making the sale be a 1/3 discount...
should i give it on our best selling item/ category ? which would bring lots of people in, but that catgegory is selling great w ithout help..they would probably buy other stuff too and it might crEate nice BUZZ........ or should i give it on the thing i really want to get rid of.... a group with lots of duds in it....and that i wouldnt mind selling under our normal mark up.... but it wouldnt cause much excitement....

Seems like a pretty simple answer to me - go with the one that will create the Buzz.

your making 33% less, but your moving more product and creating buzz

i assume you charge 100% markup......if you sell (3) $200 items for $400 & your cost was $300....in reality your losing 2/3rd of your profit since you normally would have charged $600 for it...after expenses ill bet your breaking even at that rate

because of that i wouldnt do it personally......maybe you have 200% markup

it all depends on how much extra product you have....

an idea on the stuff no one wants....give an extra 10% off on those items
