Thread: Wide Screen Monitors

    Default Wide Screen Monitors

Most monitors available today are wide screen. The one I just looked at had a max resolution of 1920 x 1080. It didn't say what the aspect ratio is. I have a "non" wide screen. The aspect ratio is 16:10 which translates to 1920 x 1200 for a maximum resolution. The screen size is 28".

My question for those of you that like wide screen monitors is what do you do with the blank space. Yes, if a web site is built on percentages it can fill the blank space, but often it's not done well and images are distorted etc. I like the longer page of the "non" wide screen so you get more on the page without scrolling.

Are you putting tool bars etc on the right of the screen to make use of that wasted space?

I don't really have any blank space, and I have dual 23" wide screens at 1920x1080 resolution.

Most of my applications take up the full screen and provide data that can fill this space, except for web sites that are fixed width and that doesn't even bother me that much.
